Our world is governed by laws and legal frameworks, and yet too often the law is a barrier to, rather than an instrument for, social progress. For most outside elite circles, lawyers are inaccessible and unaffordable, and laws are perceived as guardians of the status quo. Three new Ashoka Fellows are working in creative ways to empower non-lawyers to navigate legal systems and pull the lever of the law in service of human rights both here and abroad, of a more equitable and sustainable economy, and more. Join a conversation about how we can all reclaim and influence the law in advancing our social change work and ultimately in building a more just future.
