The Piece
Program Administrator
Portland, OR
Mitch Fantin has been empowering youth from diverse backgrounds to become agents of change for the past 14 years. More specifically, Fantin specializes in building coalitions of emerging leaders from vastly different communities and life experiences to collaborate on common causes. Fueled by his own transformative experience as a teenager attending diversity-based leadership programs, Fantin is committed to providing the same opportunities for future generations of leaders. His passion is supplemented by degrees in psychology and sociology from Portland State University, along with a professional background working for non profits emphasizing the intersectionality of social movements and the need to address problems together. Currently, as the Program Administrator of The Piece, a non-profit based in Portland, Oregon, Fantin runs programs that explore the effects of oppression through experiential education and programming for youth and adults. The organization's flagship program, Camp Odyssey, convenes unlikely groups of teens to go beyond discussing diversity, by actually living in it and building a cohesive community out of it.
